Synelixis leads COSSIM Project to successful completion

The COSSIM project, lead by Synelixis was successfully concluded!

The outcome is a novel open-source, simulator for Systems-of-Systems (i.e. CPS, Cloud, HPC Systems) that integrates a processing ‘full-system simulator’ with an innovative network simulator. Additionally, advanced power consumption and security measurement models have been developed and incorporated to the end framework. This results in a simulator that is orders-of-magnitude faster and more accurate, while reporting more aspects than any existing solution.

“There is an emergent need for efficient simulators for parallel systems. COSSIM delivered the first known framework that can cover the simulation all the way from CPS, to Cloud to HPC systems, in a very fast and integrated way ,” said Yannis Papaefstathiou, Technical Manager of the project. “The end-system is expected to reduce significantly the design-time and thus the so important time-to-market of interconnected systems, no matter if they consist of IoT nodes or many-core HPC ones.”
